well water

We’ve been struggling a bit with our water here. It just shuts off sometimes and we don’t always know why. We had a well guy come out and take a look and he said everything seemed basically OK but we just had to try not to use too much water all at once (ie. running the hose too much). Then Friday it shut off and it just wouldn’t come back on, no matter what we did. We ended up retreating to my parents’ house for dinner and the night, so we could take showers and stuff. Saturday the well guy came back and said our pump is dead, like for good. So we had to buy a new well pump. Not too surprising since the old pump was over 25 years old, and normally they last about 20 years. So he replaced it and now we have running water again! Hopefully that is the end of our weird problems with the well water.
